Ilana Pichon’s world is filled with colorful, endearing monsters, where imagination engages in dialogue with the natural world. Her compositions, imbued with lightness and playfulness, invite us to embrace the absurd, welcome the whimsical, and rekindle a sense of wonder.
Biography
Ilana Pichon is a multidisciplinary Canadian artist of Franco-Swiss origin based in Québec City. Trained in architecture and visual arts, she has twice received grants from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and frequently undertakes creation residencies in printmaking and site-specific installations across Canada. Her practice also includes large-scale mural art, and her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Québec.
Her artist books are held in the heritage collection of the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ), and her works are part of private collections in Europe and Canada.
