An exhibition at the crossroads of cultures
From October 8 to 26, 2025, the Manif d’art Window welcomes Moroccan artist Abdelmalik Berhiss for an exhibition that celebrates the encounter between Moroccan art, contemporary creation, and intercultural dialogue.
This residency, born from a collaboration between Manif d’art – The Québec City Biennial, the Ifitry Art Residency Center (Morocco), and Chiguer Art Contemporain, reflects Manif d’art’s mission to build bridges between cultures and make contemporary art accessible to all.
With support from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ).
Artistic approach
The visual world of Abdelmalik Berhiss
Originally from the Essaouira region and a member of the Amazigh Chiadma tribe, Abdelmalik Berhiss creates a mesmerizing and intricate pictorial universe.
His pointillist paintings unfold in swirling patterns where vivid colors intertwine to reveal monsters, chimeras, and organic forms.

Berhiss composes labyrinthine visions that invite viewers on an inner and spiritual journey toward the origins of the world.
His precise, endlessly repeated gestures create the illusion of perpetual motion — the layered patterns seem to float, breathe, and regenerate.
Drawing from ancestral myths and legends, he invents a fantastical bestiary where memory, myth, and matter coexist.
