Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag

Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag is an artist, composer and researcher who focuses mainly on installations. He studied fine arts, art history, music theory, composition, philosophy and cognitive science and, in 2002, founded N-solab. He has received several grants and prizes (Akademie Schloss Solitude, the German Sound Art Prize, the CynetArt Award, Haupstadtkulturfonds for e-topia, EMARE Mexico, the 2012 Villa Aurora residency in Los Angeles) and has taken part in various international exhibitions: V2 (Rotterdam), NIMK (Amsterdam), Apex Art and The Kitchen (New York City), Fundación Arte y Technologia Telefónica (Madrid), CCCB and METRONOM (Barcelona), the National Museum of Poznan (Poland) AdK, transmediale and Martin-Gropius-Bau (Berlin), Media Art Biennale (Seoul), LABoral (Gijon), CoCArt (Torun), MKG, Kampnagel, Kunsthalle and Kunstverein (Hamburg), MCCAC (Santiago de Compostela), Ars Electronica (Linz), CYBERFEST and The State Hermitage (Saint Petersburg), HMKV (Dortmund), WKV and Staatsgalerie (Stuttgart) RIXC and Art Hall (Riga).

Founded in 1978, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is an artist-run centre dedicated to experimentation in the visual arts. Its mandate takes a multipronged approach to reflect on installation and in situ practices. Thus, presentation, production and documentation are expressed through its residency programs, Web creation laboratory and documentation centre.
