LE CERCLE PRESENTS :

JOHN BLOUIN

IMACHINATION

MAY 3 TO JUNE 3 / MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY: 12 TO 2 P.M. AND 5 TO 10 P.M.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: 10 A.M. TO 2 P.M. AND 5 TO 10 P.M.

Where before there was movement and the idea of cinema, technological advances have equated 16 mm film with antique projectors, outdated mechanisms and obsolete means. This idea of image by image will take the form of an installation comprising three 16 mm projectors. Long film sequences unfurl above the heads of le Cercle patrons. The focus is not on what is projected but rather on the extension of the mechanism. To this end, we have selected one sequence from Citizen Kane, with special attention on the printing press. Between the analogue and the digital, the project as a whole takes on its full meaning in light of the machine, its evolution, spread, mobility, motion, mechanics and the motor of its language.
